with Lurdes Basolí and Toni Amengual

Performative dialogue between Toni Amengual and Lurdes R. Basolí, to discuss the confluences and contrasts of their respective works, and how practice and research have led them to hybridize documentary photography with art. Basolí and Amengual belong to a photographic generation that has questioned the limits of the documentary language in order to end up crossing them.

Toni Amengual. After graduating in Biology from the University of Barcelona and studying photography at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia and a master’s degree in photojournalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Amengual decided to devote himself to the study of ‘most complex species on the planet: theA wise man is wise. Photography has become the perfect work discipline for this purpose. Since then he has worked independently on human relationships and the relationship between humans and their environment.

Lurdes R. Basoli. Catalan photographer and visual artist, degree in Audiovisual Communication. He has published internationally and exhibited at festivals and art spaces such as Fundació Telefónica, CaixaForum (Spain); Ibero-American Art Fair (Venezuela); Noorderlicht Photofestival (Netherlands), and more. Currently, he is a resident artist at Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts (Granollers), from where he combines personal projects, commissions and teaching.
