(ILLA) O LES SIS VISIONS DE LA INSULARITAT

This collective exhibition shows six visions around the concept of insularity and the vulnerability-resilience binomial from the life experience of artists who have grown up on an island in the Mediterranean.

Through the language of photography, audiovisual and installation, works are presented that reflect on the sense of affection and belonging to a territory; Cristina González (Eivissa) through the practice of drifting with Bordering spaces, and Silvia Renda (Sicily), through the creation of a universe of personal and collective narratives with everywhere At first it was an island.

On the other hand, Elena Aya Bundurakis (Crete-Corfu) explores the potential of becoming a watery identity with the work Aqua Amnii, while Marco Loi (Sardinia) presents an identity queer which metamorphoses by adopting ancestral customs of the Mediterranean through the piece Of the animal that prevails.

Finally, two contrasting visions of insularity are presented. A Leisure and order, by Sergio Monje (Mallorca), tourism becomes the center of everything; while a Plow the Root, of the ONiON collective (Menorca), rootedness makes it possible to resist the acidity of this globalized model.
