
MASTERCLASS ‘EMPEZAR DESDE LA SOMBRA’, FEDERICO CLAVARINO
Think about how strange your shadow is: it is at once the proof that you are here, positioned somewhere between the sun and the surface onto which your silhouette is cast, and at the same time it is a portion of space you can never occupy, since you can never coincide with your own shadow. A shadow is both you and not you, like a photograph.
Federico Clavarino. Visual artist, researcher, and teacher. He studied creative writing at Alessandro Baricco’s Scuola Holden in Turin and Focumentary Photography at the BlankPaper School in Madrid, and holds a master’s in Research (2021) and a PhD (2025) from the Royal College of Art in London. He has published eight books, and his work has been exhibited throughout Europe, in the official program of festivals, galleries, and museums. He was a teacher at the BlankPaper School and currently teaches classes and workshops internationally, in collaboration with museums, schools, and universities.
