TRIBUTE TO FILMMAKER JOAN ALLÈS

Menorcan filmmaker Joan Allès (Ciutadella, 1954-2022) left behind an extensive body of work that captures, with a poetic eye, a personal testimony of our culture.

Macià Florit and Elsabeth Produccions, with support from Cinescan, have digitized the Super-8 films from his early period (1980-1986).

Double screening. On the one hand, on October 6, at 8 p.m., Terra de Menorca (2025, original Catalan version, 91 min.), a session of 5 short films comprising the following titles: Enyorança, Passeig pel nord de Ciutadella, Terra Menorca, Comunitats vegetals, and L’utopia i el sud. And on the other, on October 8, at 8 p.m., La ciutat vella (2025, original Catalan version, 83 min.), a session of 6 short films comprising the following titles: Lluna misteriosa, El camp, Cotxes vells 83, Expansió de la ciutat, Mediterrani. Com un vell cetaci malferit, and La ciutat vella.
