RETROSPECTIVA D’UN POBLE

Retrospectiva d’un poble is a project dedicated to recovering and showcasing the photographic memory of the towns of Menorca, in collaboration with the Image and Sound Archive of Menorca. It is a tribute to the work of photographers who have documented the life and people of the island.

So far, the following editions have taken place: Retrospectiva d’un poble I, dedicated to Josep Sintes Abril; Retrospectiva d’un poble II, dedicated to Pere Cabacés, and Música, teatre i festa a la Menorca de 1973 a 1979, in memory of Josep M. Vidal Hernández. In this edition, Retrospectiva d’un poble IV is dedicated to Francesc (Frank) Adrover i Mercadal (1856-1924), a photographer from Maó who travelled around Menorca in late 1881, leaving behind a valuable photographic record of the island.
