Vincles introduces a small part of the people who help keep Menorcan folklore alive through memory and transmission. Their stories and the objects that link them to this tradition speak of identity, family, community and shared heritage.

 

Maria Saura. Graphic designer and photography student. A graduate in Graphic Design from the Escola Massana, she is currently studying Photography at the IEFC. Her projects focus on memory and identity, such as her final degree project, Veus Silenciades.

Insularia – Islands of the World Networked is an international film festival, unique in Spain, dedicated exclusively to promoting film productions made in island territories around the world.

 

Encuentro Isla Mujeres with the CIMA Canarias Deputy Delegate Arima León and filmmaker Clara Garriga (Balearic Islands). Presentation of short films from the CIMA10 Programme and the 2025 Biosfera Award (Menorca Doc Fest).

This is the closing event of the 8th Menorca Doc Fest, with the Menorca Film Commission. A documentary filmed in 2025 in the UEECO classroom (Specific Educational Unit in a Mainstream School) at IES Pasqual Calbó i Caldés.

 

Cristian P. Coll is a photographer, filmmaker and teacher. With Produccions des Far he has produced documentary films such as the series Menorquins (2021) and Camins, el viatge de les persones refugiades (2016), which received an honourable mention at the SIMA Awards 2017. He has also co-produced projects such as La fibra sensible (2025), by Isabel Andrés Portí. He is part of the coordination team of Es FAR Cultural and directs the documentary film and photography festival Menorca Doc Fest.

Biosfera Award screening

 

The Menorca Doc Fest Biosfera Award is dedicated to documentaries and audiovisual projects that explore the environment and biodiversity, promoting stories that inspire a transformation towards a more sustainable Menorca. The following films will be screened:

· PA by Maria Besora (2025, Catalan, 15 min.)

· Caracteristica nocturna by Claudia Barthelemy (2024, Catalan/Spanish, 21 min.)

Portfolio reviews for the selection of photographic projects from Sardinia, led by Cristian P. Coll (Menorca Doc Fest) and Fabian Volti (Asincronie).

 

Cristian P. Coll is a photographer, filmmaker and teacher. Fabian Volti is the director of the Asincronie festival (Sardinia, Italy). A filmmaker and cinematographer, he holds a degree in Political Science and a Master’s in International Cooperation. He began working on audiovisual projects between Berlin and Madrid, and focused on visual research and documentary film.

Presentation of the photobook «Sant Lluís no és Missouri» and meeting with the author

 

«Sant Lluís no és Missouri» is a project that defends the cultural identity and local traditions of the island of Menorca. Through a nostalgic yet critical gaze, it explains the risk that changes imposed from outside may gradually erase the gestures, habits and way of life that make the territory unique.
